About The Position

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is seeking a Senior Population Health Data Analyst to join their Planning & Analytics for Total Health (PATH) team. This team uses real-time data insights and clinical expertise to help clients enhance plan performance, control costs, and promote healthier workforces. The role involves analyzing employee benefits data to develop actionable strategies, identifying opportunities to optimize benefits, and maximizing the value of benefits investments. The Senior Data Analyst will support RN Clinical Consultants and Account Executives by focusing on data analysis, query, and reporting to help clients understand healthcare utilization patterns and develop proactive strategies.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of employee benefits or healthcare experience with consultants, brokers, health plans, systems, or providers.
  • Proficient in reporting and analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) with strong understanding of key performance metrics across medical, pharmacy, wellness, and other benefits data.
  • Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience working in data warehouse environments such as Artemis Health, Cotiviti, SCIO, Springbuk, or carrier/TPA platforms.
  • Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent career experience preferred; preferred degree types: health sciences, information technology, statistics or other related field.
  • Masters preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to RN Clinical Consultants and Account Executives focusing on data analysis, query and reporting production.
  • Help clients understand the impact of healthcare utilization patterns.
  • Provide analysis and assist with recommendations to proactively position the sales & clinical team to create fact-based renewal and risk mitigation strategies and decisions.
  • Participate in client meetings to introduce analytic frameworks, gather information, and provide consulting.
  • Collaborate with implementation, account management, clinical, and health teams to align expectations, prioritize tasks, build reports, and deliver insights.
  • Serve as a healthcare data analytics subject matter expert, creating standard and ad hoc reports to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Lead training on data warehouse use.
  • Perform monthly data quality assurance.
  • Develop case studies and cohort analyses for internal and external presentations.
