About The Position

Walmart is hiring a Senior, Data Analyst – Transportation Modeling to support strategic, data-driven decisions across Supply Chain and Transportation. In this role, you’ll use advanced analytics and modeling approaches to evaluate complex “what-if” scenarios and translate results into clear insights for business partners and leaders. This is a high-visibility role with a broad stakeholder group. You’ll work across teams to understand the business question, structure the analysis, and communicate recommendations that help inform long-term network and transportation strategy.

Requirements

Strong transportation and/or supply chain domain understanding and the ability to connect how decisions impact cost and service.
Experience using modeling tools and/or third-party software to evaluate network, routing, capacity, or operational scenarios.
Strong analytical problem-solving skills and comfort working with ambiguous, open-ended questions.
Ability to communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 2 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
4 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.

Responsibilities

Build, maintain, and run transportation and supply chain models (including simulation and scenario analysis) to evaluate strategic initiatives.
Partner with cross-functional teams to define the problem, gather inputs, validate assumptions, and ensure outputs are decision-ready.
Assess tradeoffs across cost, service, capacity, and operational feasibility for initiatives such as new facilities, new services, and network changes.
Develop executive-ready materials (storytelling, visuals, and summaries) that clearly explain model results, risks, and recommendations.
Support multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment and help drive alignment across stakeholders.
