About The Position

Okta is seeking a Senior Data Analyst for their Marketing Analytics team. This role is crucial for supporting Okta's growth strategy by bridging technical data infrastructure and marketing execution. The analyst will partner with Marketing and Data & Insights teams to deliver high-fidelity data across web, automation, and CRM platforms, ensuring marketing investments are informed by actionable intelligence. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving complex data challenges with creative, data-driven solutions, possesses deep expertise in Marketing Analytics, understands web data thoroughly, and can connect it to business objects in Salesforce and Marketo. They should be adept at connecting technical SQL logic with business strategy and comfortable in a fast-paced marketing environment.

Requirements

  • BS in CS, MIS, Mathematics, Marketing Analytics, or a related technical degree.
  • 5+ years of related experience as a Data Analyst (3+ years with a Master’s degree).
  • Expert-level SQL proficiency.
  • Extensive experience working with Snowflake.
  • Deep understanding of Web Analytics and marketing systems including Marketo and Salesforce (Leads, Contacts, Accounts).
  • Strong foundation in data modeling principles and ER diagramming.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence senior partners and technical teams alike.
  • Proven ability to react to change with flexibility and take ownership of results in ambiguous situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building reports and visualizations in Tableau or similar BI tools.
  • Experience with ABX (Account-Based Experience) platforms and data (e.g., 6sense, CommonRoom).
  • Experience with Adobe Target data for personalization and optimization analysis.
  • Background in data governance and data provenance frameworks.
  • Experience in Dashboard development (Tableau and/or Looker Studio).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Marketing Analytics, taking ownership of web data analysis and investigating performance across web platforms, marketing automation, and CRM to guide marketing strategy.
  • Act as a primary partner to the Marketing and Data & Insights teams, translating complex SQL logic into business terms and vice versa to ensure alignment across stakeholders of all technical levels.
  • Leverage complete knowledge of data modeling (ER diagrams) to build and maintain scalable datasets within Snowflake.
  • Manage and manipulate key Salesforce objects (Leads, Contacts, Accounts) to provide a holistic view of the customer journey.
  • Identify and implement process efficiencies and innovative reporting improvements that go beyond traditional descriptive dashboards.
  • Devise solutions based on limited information, using evaluation and interpretation to select the right course of action for unusual data circumstances.
  • Foster an open and transparent team environment, leveraging diverse perspectives and backgrounds to drive collective success.
