About the position
As a key member of the Data Analytics team, you will empower data-driven decision making at both strategic and tactical levels by partnering with stakeholders across the organization. Your role will involve using analytical and problem-solving skills to support data-driven decision making, performing analyses to generate actionable insights, and synthesizing complex analyses to effectively communicate core takeaways. Additionally, you will collaborate cross-functionally with product managers and data engineers to ensure comprehensive and accurate data capture. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Use analytical and problem-solving skills to support data-driven decision making and drive strategic and operational initiatives
- Find solutions to novel and unstructured problems by diving into details while maintaining a view of the big picture and coming up with data-supported solutions
- Perform analyses to explore and interpret data, generating actionable insights and recommendations for informed decision making
- Synthesize complex analyses visually and in writing to effectively communicate core takeaways to various audiences
- Gain deep knowledge of specific areas of the business, working closely with functional leaders to drive initiatives and track performance
- Help foster a culture of data-driven decision making by building dashboards, tools, and models that empower teams to analyze their performance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers and data engineers to ensure comprehensive and accurate data capture that meets business needs
Requirements
- 5+ years of direct experience in data analytics and/ or data engineering
- Strong technical abilities and proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau) and Excel; experience with Python or similar scripting languages is a plus
- Familiarity with data pipelines/ETL tools (e.g. Stitch, Airflow) and data warehouses (e.g. BigQuery)
- Organized and able to efficiently prioritize, multi-task, and adapt in a fast-paced, often changing environment
- Applied knowledge of measurement, statistics and program evaluation
- Initiative and ownership - self-starter capable of driving projects independently and with urgency
- Detail-oriented, but capable of seeing the big picture and following the "80/20 rule"
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex and nuanced concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- High-growth start-up experience is a plus
- Previous experience in real estate, insurance or credit is a plus
