About The Position

OEC Group is seeking a Senior-level Entry Writer with 3-5 years of entry writing experience and familiarity with U.S. Customs regulations. The role involves dealing with a high volume of data entry and preparing customs entries for all import shipments to be submitted to and released from U.S. Customs in a timely manner. The Senior Customs Entry Writer will ensure proper classification of entries using tools like company profiles, CROSS, and the internet, and will communicate with the Importer of Record. Responsibilities also include creating invoices for duty and entry charges, developing and maintaining customer profiles based on shipment history, coordinating with customers to classify new commodities according to HTS, and answering brokerage-related inquiries internally and externally.

Requirements

3-5 years of entry writing experience
Familiarity with U.S. Customs regulations
Experience dealing with a high volume of data entry
Experience with Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

Cargowise experience and knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

Prepares customs entries for all import shipments to be submitted to and released from U.S. Customs in a timely manner
Ensures that all entries are properly classified by using tools such as company profiles, CROSS (Customs Rulings Online Search System), Internet and communicating with the Importer of record
Creates invoices for duty and entry charges to be sent to the Billing Department
Develops and maintains customer profiles based on the customer’s shipment history
Coordinates with customers to classify new commodities per according to HTS
Answers any Brokerage related inquiries internally and externally
