About The Position

The Senior Customs Compliance Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that the company’s import activities comply with all applicable customs regulations, trade laws, and government policies. This role involves managing complex customs compliance processes, conducting internal audits, and serving as a subject matter expert for customs-related matters. The Senior Analyst will work closely with various departments, including logistics, procurement, and legal, to ensure seamless global trade operations. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in customs compliance or global trade.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. import laws, CBP regulations, and HTS classification.
  • Experience with AES filing, duty drawback, and customs entries.
  • Familiarity with trade agreements and tariff management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in trade management software and systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
  • Proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in international business, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) certification.
  • Experience with U.S. Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) and other government programs.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all import activities comply with U.S. Customs regulations, including HTS classification, valuation, country of origin determination, and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of required documentation for customs clearance, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and entry summaries.
  • Conduct internal audits of customs processes to ensure compliance with CBP regulations and company policies. Maintain accurate records and reports for all customs activities.
  • Review and assign appropriate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications for goods and ensure accurate and consistent use of HTS codes across shipments.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on customs compliance procedures and regulatory updates.
  • Work closely with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure timely and compliant shipment processing.
  • Stay up to date with changes in customs laws and regulations, and proactively communicate these changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify and address potential risks related to customs compliance, including fines, penalties, and shipment delays.
  • Manage company participation in customs programs like CTPAT, FTZ (Foreign Trade Zone), and other trade facilitation initiatives.
