About The Position

The Senior Custodian cleans internal and external campus spaces under the supervision of the Custodial Assistant Superintendent. The role includes handling trash and recyclable materials, replenishing soap and towel dispensers, reporting building equipment and supply needs, and maintaining the security of assigned spaces. The incumbent also performs specialized cleaning in laboratory and medical spaces and moves, sets up, and takes down furniture and appliances as needed.

Requirements

• Six months in custodial cleaning operations, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Ability to read and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to speak clearly in English and follow written and oral instructions in English.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to use powered and manual floor-cleaning and polishing equipment, as well as dollies, hoists, and other moving aids.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply appropriate cleaning methods, including specialized procedures and techniques for laboratory and medical spaces.
• Knowledge of applicable security regulations and ability to follow established security protocols.

Nice To Haves

• University and/or Medical Center experience.
• Current valid California Driver’s License.
