Senior CT Radiology Technologist
About The Position
Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia, is hiring a full-time Senior CT Radiology Technologist for a weekend day shift. The role provides computed tomography imaging to patients under a supervising physician and follows required protocols and radiation-safety guidelines. The technologist administers CT contrast per protocol and must have IV and cardiac imaging competencies. The position includes patient and family education, safe operation and upkeep of imaging equipment, department documentation, and maintaining adequate examination supplies. The technologist leads department operations and staff, serves as a liaison to physicians, supportive-care personnel, and Imaging leadership, and participates in system Imaging Committees. The schedule is Friday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; call is required.
Requirements
- Trade school graduate in Radiologic Technology.
- ARRT (CT) or CNMT certification.
- BLS.
- At least 2 years of CT experience.
- IV competency.
- Cardiac imaging competency.
Responsibilities
- Perform CT imaging per protocol under the direction of a qualified physician.
- Provide patient and family education.
- Operate equipment safely and follow radiation-safety regulatory guidelines.
- Administer CT contrast per protocol.
- Complete department documentation.
- Keep equipment clean and operational and maintain adequate supplies for examinations.
- Act as a liaison to physicians and supportive-care personnel.
- Lead department operations and staff.
- Act as a liaison to Imaging leadership.
- Participate in system Imaging Committees.
