About The Position
At NYP/Lower Manhattan Hospital, Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) deliver incredible patient-centered anesthesia for all types of surgical procedures, including cardiac, vascular, and neurosurgery. They administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled and emergency surgical, obstetric, and diagnostic procedures. This role involves fostering team building and driving excellence within the anesthesia department, coordinating clinical care, assisting with unit administration and staffing, and overseeing the Student Nurse Anesthetist Program. The position also includes counseling CRNAs, planning staff development, and promoting morale, professionalism, and cohesion among employees and students. This is a full-time position at NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital.
Requirements
- At least three (3) years CRNA experience with demonstrated peer leadership and additional administrative management experience.
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Current New York State RN license (or willingness to obtain).
- Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
- BCLS certification.
- Knowledge of scheduling software and personnel management.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must live within a commutable distance to NYP.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient-centered anesthesia for all types of surgical procedures, including cardiac, vascular, and neurosurgery.
- Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled and emergency surgical, obstetric, and diagnostic procedures.
- Coordinate all aspects of clinical care to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered services.
- Assist with unit administration, including the management of staffing needs.
- Coordinate the Student Nurse Anesthetist Program.
- Counsel CRNAs on a regular basis, providing staff development, planning activities, recognition, and training sessions.
- Foster collaboration and independent thinking.
