About The Position

Our mission is to accurately collect, verify, and manage criminal justice data while ensuring strict compliance with legal and departmental standards. We are committed to maintaining secure communication and safeguarding sensitive information, supporting staff with reliable data for effective offender supervision, and upholding the integrity and efficiency of our systems through diligent monitoring and maintenance. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Requirements

  • Must possess two years of secretarial or clerical work experience.
  • College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required work experience.
  • Vocational/technical training in an area of secretarial or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required work experience.
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent can substitute for one year of the required work experience.
  • Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.
  • Must pass a Level 2 background check.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Collects, verifies, and enters criminal justice data from various documents into computer systems following department rules.
  • Uses judgment to analyze and update offender information in systems like MIS, NCIC/FCIC, and CJIS with standardized codes.
  • Sends and receives investigative information through secure communication networks, ensuring legal and policy compliance.
  • Helps staff understand and use data to supervise offenders and answers questions from authorized personnel.
  • Keeps sensitive information secure, monitors staff compliance with standards, maintains records, and performs basic equipment maintenance.
