About The Position

At Bank of America, the Senior Credit Underwriter supports credit underwriting and monitoring for new and existing clients in partnership with a credit team. The role independently manages transactions or portfolios of limited to moderate complexity, completes and reviews credit analysis, evaluates risks, and prepares financial analysis. It leads the underwriting process, ensures timely and accurate analysis, and coaches teammates on credit requirements. The CREB Senior Underwriter performs deal analysis, prepares supporting justification, and processes approvals, applying relevant policies and regulations to transactions. As a senior member of a CREB market team aligned with a line-of-business region or market, the underwriter works with Credit Officer teams and manages an assigned client portfolio. The role is typically an individual contributor reporting to a CREB Senior Credit Product Manager and pairs with a Credit Officer to jointly underwrite and close new commercial real estate transactions and materially modify existing facilities. It also advises the CREB portfolio group on post-closing credit actions as needed. The underwriter is responsible for underwriting all aspects of transactions—including construction debt, non-FHA permanent debt, and equity—across all product types. The role is based at one of the listed Bank of America offices in Los Angeles or San Francisco and is designated as first shift, 40 hours per week. Bank of America describes an in-office culture with role-specific flexibility based on responsibilities and business needs.
