About The Position

This role involves conducting credit investigations and analysis of financial data for new and existing commercial and agricultural loans. The Senior Credit Analyst will prepare financial statements, projections, and reports, including written analysis of creditworthiness for various stakeholders. The position also requires assisting with loan documentation, tracking, and maintaining knowledge of bank policies, regulations, and economic trends. Secondary responsibilities include representing the bank in professional associations, staying informed about government loan programs, identifying new business opportunities, and assisting with vendor financial reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance or Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of actual Credit Analysis experience either as a Credit Analyst or Commercial/Agriculture Lender with a financial institution.
  • Loan analysis and critical thinking skills.
  • Business development/sales skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of lending regulations and policies.
  • Ability to interact with customers and employees with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
  • Resourceful, innovative, and well organized.
  • Ability to assess problems and/or unusual situations and develop logical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct credit investigations and analysis of financial data, company background, guarantor support, and industry type for new and existing commercial and agricultural loans.
  • Prepare financial statements, projections, spread sheets, peer analysis, and reports with written analysis of overall credit for officers, senior lending groups, and loan committees.
  • Assist in the completion and tracking of borrowing bases, loan agreements, action plans, risk ratings, watch lists, and collateral evaluations.
  • Work with lenders to complete loan interviews, annual loan reviews, and inspections to understand lending relationships.
  • Maintain knowledge of the Bank’s lending policies and procedures and identify policy deviations.
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with banking laws and regulations related to lending.
  • Assist the VP Credit Administration in developing and maintaining credit risk tools and systems.
  • Stay informed about economic conditions and trends affecting the loan portfolio and banking industry.
  • Provide general support and assistance to lending staff.
  • Represent the Bank in industry and professional associations, community organizations, and local business groups.
  • Stay knowledgeable about guaranteed government loan programs and conventional financing mechanisms.
  • Identify, develop, and solicit new business opportunities, including referrals of all bank products.
  • Assist with loan review as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, and federal and state laws/regulations.
  • Assist IT with vendor management by reviewing vendor financials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
