About The Position

The Senior Coverage Analyst is responsible for investigating, analyzing, and determining insurance coverage for complex first-party and third-party claims. This role requires a deep understanding of insurance policy language, legal principles, and claims litigation. The adjuster serves as a coverage expert, providing guidance on complex coverage issues, evaluating legal opinions, and collaborating with defense counsel, coverage counsel, coverage counsel, claims professionals, and business partners to support sound claim and litigation strategies. Successful candidates possess advanced analytical skills, strong legal reasoning, and the ability to interpret complex insurance contracts and legal opinions while balancing customer service, regulatory compliance, and business objectives. This position draws upon responsibilities and coverage expertise found in internal claims and coverage-focused roles.

Responsibilities

Evaluates, negotiates and settles the most complex represented and/or litigation claims in accordance with business unit best practices.
Collaborates with defense counsel to establish negotiation and litigation strategies.
Establishes and adjusts reserves, documents rationale and claim summary notes.
Reviews medical bills and records in preparation for claims settlement evaluation
Leads training sessions for the team.
Manages, researches, and resolves complex communications, concerns, conflicts or issues.
Documents a claim file with notes, evaluations and decision-making process.
