About The Position

The Senior Counsel – Legal & Compliance reports directly to the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and will play a crucial role in supporting our legal and compliance functions. This position is responsible for recommending and implementing corporate compliance initiatives at the direction of the CLO, managing legal aspects of corporate transactions, and providing recommendations for courses of action regarding intellectual property decisions. The ideal candidate will have proven in-house legal experience and strong business acumen.

Requirements

  • Adept at identifying and managing legal risk across diverse business functions.
  • A trusted advisor who can confidently engage with management at all levels.
  • An excellent communicator who can translate legal concepts into clear business guidance.
  • Well-versed in basic financial principles, with a strong understanding of how legal issues impact business outcomes.
  • Independent and self-directed, able to lead initiatives without direct reports.
  • Passionate about building a culture of integrity, accountability, and proactive risk management.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active license to practice law in Wisconsin
  • 5-8 years of relevant legal experience, preferably including in-house experience.
  • Strong understanding of corporate compliance, contract law, employment law and basic familiarity with intellectual property concepts.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chief Legal Officer in the management of 4imprint’s legal and compliance affairs.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal policies, procedures, and standard contract forms to ensure legal and regulatory compliance and minimize risk to the company.
  • Support the company’s operations, sales, sourcing, human resources, and finance functions.
  • Partner on internal auditing and compliance monitoring activities.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations and corporate governance standards.
  • Train leaders and associates on legal concepts, developments and workplace expectations.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including vendor, customer, licensing, and partnership agreements.
  • Advise on intellectual property matters. Provide recommendations regarding trademarks, copyrights, and patents in alignment with business goals.
  • Provide legal guidance on business initiatives, risk exposure, and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop strong relationships with the Chief Legal Officer and key members of the 4imprint team.
  • Manage and coordinate with outside counsel as necessary.
