About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Counsel, Building Products to join our team. As the chief legal advisor for our Building Products Executive Leadership team and other members of business unit management, this person will play a crucial role in providing strategic legal guidance on the legal implications of commercial, operational and other business strategies and activities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping our company succeed and will have a proven track record of success in a similar role.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a recognized institution
  • Extensive experience in corporate legal practice
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
  • Experience with regulatory issues, compliance, and corporate governance
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional leadership and management abilities
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience in risk management and strategic problem solving
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Adequate understanding of the company's industry and market
  • Proven legal experience in a corporate environment
  • Member in good standing of the bar in any US state
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse legal team
  • In-depth understanding of legal procedures, regulations, and structure
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity
  • Sound judgment and ability to analyze situations and information
  • Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment on the organization
  • Ability to anticipate legal issues or risks and propose effective solutions

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with enterprise legal colleagues and partner with Building Products leadership to enable execution of strategic priorities while managing risk and enhancing efficiency to create business impact.
  • Negotiate and structure complex commercial agreements.
  • Lead legal support for business-driven initiatives, including pricing strategies, channel optimization, supply chain resiliency, and margin improvement efforts.
  • Provide M&A support, including due diligence, cross-functional collaboration, and post-close alignment.
  • Collaborate with product development and innovation teams on intellectual property matters.
  • Provide practical, actionable guidance to senior leadership, contributing to business reviews, risk assessments, and strategic planning discussions.
