About The Position

As a Senior Cost Manager at Linesight, you will work with experienced, culturally diverse teams and contribute to client relationships and the company’s business strategy. You will be supported and mentored by industry leaders, take responsibility for your role, and have opportunities to develop your skills and career. This onsite role involves cost management across projects, including tendering, change management, cost planning, project spending, final accounts, and construction claims. The role also includes mentoring and leading employees.

Requirements

• Experience as a Senior Cost Manager, ideally in a consultancy.
• Experience in pre-contract cost management, budget control, cost planning, and preparing and initiating change forms for discussion with project stakeholders.
• Knowledge of alternative construction materials.
• Chartered status or progress toward chartership.
• A degree or comparable experience in a project management or construction discipline.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to build strong relationships with teams and clients through a shared purpose, openness, and a positive approach.
• Availability to work onsite.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the tender and bid process, from preparing initial documentation through analysis and reporting.
• Manage change processes by identifying, analyzing, approving, and implementing changes that affect project costs.
• Analyze tenders and bids to ensure value for money for clients.
• Assist with preparing and agreeing final accounts, including handling claims to secure the best value for clients.
• Create estimates and cost plans for key client developments.
• Oversee project spending by preparing valuations and cost reports, and communicate variations clearly to the team.
• Support responsive project management and clear decision-making through thorough cost documentation and timely communication.
• Support the transparent settlement of construction disputes and loss-and-expense claims.
• Mentor and lead employees to support their performance and growth.
