About The Position

This role focuses on developing, reviewing, and managing project-specific Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Plans in alignment with the Global Construction Safety Policy and OSHA regulations. The Senior Cost Manager will lead the development and implementation of cost control systems, plans, and procedures across project portfolios. This involves monitoring budgets, expenditures, and forecasts to ensure compliance with project and corporate financial objectives. The role requires identifying cost variances, potential risks, and savings opportunities, and proposing corrective actions. The Senior Cost Manager will prepare and maintain detailed cost reports, dashboards, and forecasts for project leadership and stakeholders, conducting variance analysis, cash flow tracking, and earned value performance reporting. Collaboration with project management, engineering, procurement, and finance teams is essential for coordinating all aspects of cost control. The position also involves acting as a trusted financial advisor, providing clear and actionable recommendations, and leading and mentoring cost control team members to foster professional development and accountability. Driving process improvement and standardization in cost management practices and tools is also a key aspect of this role. The work location is onsite at client sites to enable delivery and cultivate client relationships. While there is some in-person time for collaboration, learning, and building relationships, the employer aims to be as flexible as possible to support specific work/life needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
  • 7+ years in project cost control or financial analysis.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role supporting large capital or industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, earned value management (EVM), and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, or equivalent ERP systems and expert use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and communicate financial implications.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in life sciences, manufacturing, construction, or large-scale infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
  • 10+ years in project cost control or financial analysis, with at least 8 years in a leadership or managerial role supporting large capital or industrial projects.
  • Advance knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, earned value management (EVM), and financial reporting.
  • Advance proficiency in SAP, Oracle, or equivalent ERP systems and expert use of Microsoft Excel.
