About The Position

Turner & Townsend is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Engineer with experience managing the financial and cost reporting aspects of large-scale construction projects or programs. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success leading teams and delivering cost management solutions on complex capital projects. This role will support a major capital program based in Houston, Texas, providing cost engineering, forecasting, financial reporting, and project controls support across large-scale EPC projects. The successful candidate will partner closely with project leadership and key stakeholders to drive effective cost performance and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in project cost engineering or cost management, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Working knowledge of financial management systems and project controls software.
  • Experience managing project budgets, cost reporting, forecasting, and financial performance, preferably within an EPC environment.
  • Experience implementing financial strategies, including risk identification, quantification, and allocation.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and develop robust financial reporting and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Market sector experience: Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Utilities, or other heavy industrial sectors required.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting projects or programs valued at $1B+.
  • Experience with SAP, EcoSys, Power BI, and Power Automate required.
  • AACE membership or certification, or similar professional credentials, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the development and implementation of cost reporting strategies for major construction projects.
  • Providing specialist technical cost engineering advice to private sector clients across a variety of construction contracts.
  • Preparing and managing project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Monitoring project costs and ensuring they align with the approved budget.
  • Conducting financial analysis and reporting on project performance.
  • Supporting project billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards, and industry best practices (AACE).
  • Building positive relationships within the project team and with client personnel and their key advisors.
  • Managing and updating internal financial trackers and supporting the financial capability of the project services function.
  • Supporting the delivery of both team and wider business targets.
  • Supporting data visualization and reporting via digital dashboard and automation tools.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role and are to be adhered to where applicable.
