About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Cost Consultant to lead the delivery of complex electrical cost planning and estimating projects across a diverse portfolio of construction developments. This role will be responsible for managing the full project cost lifecycle from early feasibility and budgeting through procurement, tendering, construction, and final account settlement. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical estimating expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to provide strategic cost advice to clients and project stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in electrical estimating, cost consulting, quantity surveying, or construction cost management
  • Strong experience managing complex electrical construction projects across multiple phases
  • Advanced understanding of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and data systems
  • Proven experience developing cost plans, feasibility studies, tender evaluations, and procurement strategies
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, change management, and post-contract cost control
  • Experience mentoring or leading junior team members
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong client-facing communication and presentation abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating/cost management software
  • Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full cost planning and estimating process for complex, large-scale electrical projects from inception through completion
  • Develop and review high-level budgets, feasibility estimates, and cost plans during early project stages
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and validation of detailed estimates and tender documentation prepared by junior team members
  • Provide expert guidance on procurement strategies, contract types, and cost risk management
  • Lead tender evaluations, negotiations, and award recommendations
  • Manage post-contract cost control activities including valuations, change management, and final account settlement
  • Mentor, support, and review the work of intermediate and junior consultants
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to business development and repeat business opportunities
  • Produce detailed cost reports and present findings to clients, leadership teams, and senior project stakeholders
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and consultants to ensure project cost objectives are achieved
