About The Position

The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for preparing and analyzing monthly material and manufacturing variances, inventory reserves, inventory movement, costs of sales, and system cost flows. You'll be responsible for investigating data. This role collaborates with manufacturing to understand and communicate monthly operational cost variances, prepare monthly financial performance packages, and prepare monthly journal entries. Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include: Reconcile inventory transactions and prepare monthly journal entries Design and prepare monthly Operations Financial Performance Package Support quarterly forecasting process and annual budget preparation Identify opportunities to increase efficiency in month end close process

Requirements

  • Experience in cost accounting working in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated clear concise communication skills
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Four-year college or university degree or its equivalent in Accounting or business related field
  • 2+ years' experience in Cost Accounting, financial modeling and analysis in a Manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of cost accounting, inventory control, and general accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Experience in JDEdwards, Oracle or related ERP system
