The Opportunity We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Corporate Accountant to join our finance team. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, preparing monthly management reports, ensuring compliance with company policies, and driving improvements in our financial reporting processes. This role is based out of Dentalcorp’s Toronto Support Centre from Monday to Thursday and Fridays are work from home. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to mentor junior staff. The Impact You’ll Have Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Finance, your primary responsibility will entail comprehensive support across all facets of the Finance Department ensuring timely month-end close and financial data analysis to aid strategic decision making. In This Role, You Will Prepare monthly corporate P&L review and analysis and present the results to upper management Ensure accurate accruals are recorded for all departments Prepare monthly expense allocations and ensure proper classifications Review expenses to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards Prepare insightful reports for corporate departments Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Review capex scheduled for capitalization and prepare monthly asset cash outflow report. Review monthly budget uploads for accuracy Provide support for year-end inventory counts and assist in fulfilling audit requests Collaborate with departments to ensure all monthly expenses are properly captured Assist in executing various internal control protocols to uphold the integrity of financial operations and ensure compliance with company policies Perform other various month-end and year-end ad hoc activities as needed What You’ll Bring University Degree or Diploma in Accounting or Finance. CPA enrollment considered a plus. Ideally 2 to 3 years experience in a similar role/environment Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment A self-starter, highly positive can-do attitude in a rapidly changing environment Microsoft Office Suite (Excel (pivot tables and lookups), Word and PowerPoint). Detail-oriented with a high level of efficiency and accuracy.
