About The Position

This role is for a Senior Corporate Accountant who is interested in automating tedious accounting tasks and focusing on more complex, analytical work. The company, SUGARED + BRONZED, is growing rapidly and uses AI and has established data infrastructure. The VP of Accounting also leads AI for the organization, providing strong support for automation initiatives. The ideal candidate will be curious about automation, willing to question processes, and maintain a high standard for accuracy. This is a hands-on accounting role involving weekly payroll, monthly closes, reconciliations, and managing a rent calendar for multiple locations. While automation is encouraged, it is layered on top of solid accounting fundamentals, and the core of the job is owning the numbers with careful, well-documented, and timely work.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of accounting experience.
  • Solid full-cycle accounting fundamentals: accruals, prepaids, journal entries, and reconciliations that can be built and defended.
  • Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets, including formulas and structure.
  • A high bar for accuracy and the ability to meet recurring deadlines without constant supervision.
  • Comfort with detail and volume, including repetitive tasks that must be accurate.
  • Genuine curiosity about automation.
  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Payroll and multi-location accounting experience.
  • QuickBooks Online experience.
  • Rippling experience.
  • Experience using AI tools, scripts, or automation in a finance context.
  • Multi-entity or retail accounting background.

Responsibilities

  • Run weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees across all locations, including timecard and PTO review, adjustments, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Manage expense coordination through spend management tools, including coding, receipt and approval follow-up, and month-end accruals.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations, create journal entries in QuickBooks Online, and maintain the general ledger across departments.
  • Manage bank and credit card reconciliations, prepaids, accruals, and provide balance sheet support.
  • Oversee the rent calendar for all studios, track lease obligations, and review landlord charges.
  • Prepare schedules, tie-outs, and support for audits and period-end closing.
  • Partner with Operations and Real Estate teams on financial matters.
