About The Position

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Senior Corporate Accountant to join our dynamic team in Carlsbad, CA! This is a hybrid, site-based role that offers the perfect blend of office collaboration and remote flexibility. This role focuses on leading the global financial close, standardizing global accounting and close management practices, and supporting external reporting compliance. Cross-functional collaboration is a key component, which includes partnering directly with global business units.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of public corporate accounting or relevant financial experience. (Public accounting experience highly valued).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (CPA or advanced degree is a plus).
  • Deep, hands-on experience navigating and executing complex monthly and quarterly financial close processes.
  • Strong command of US GAAP, accounting theory, and financial statement mechanics.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities
  • Superior problem-solving skills paired with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • ERP system experience (Oracle preferred)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global close activities: Manage monthly and quarterly close cycles, ensuring accurate reconciliations, journal entries, and adherence to SOX and SEC requirements.
  • Review financial statements: Conduct monthly pre-distribution checks and resolve discrepancies to ensure the integrity of consolidated financial statements.
  • Standardize debt accounting: Establish uniform monthly debt close processes—including journal entries for interest accruals/payments and debt issuance costs, reconciliations, and SEC disclosure workpapers—across global entities.
  • Standardize intangibles accounting: Establish uniform monthly intangibles close processes—including journal entries for capitalization and amortization, reconciliations, and SEC disclosure workpapers—across global entities.
  • Manage Balance Sheet reconciliations: Perform and review complex balance sheet account reconciliations alongside detailed flux (variance) analysis.
  • Manage the end-to-end preparation and posting of multi-entity general ledger journal entries
  • Partner with business units: Collaborate with global Business Areas to evaluate and account for complex transactions, including intangible assets and debt
  • Support SEC filings: Prepare financial schedules and supporting documentation for the SEC team ahead of 10-K and 10-Q filings.
  • Optimize processes: Evaluate current internal workflows and implement efficient, standardized procedures for the financial close and BlackLine management.
