About The Position

The Senior Corporate Accountant owns the accuracy of the general ledger for assigned corporate accounts. The role prepares journal entries, performs complex reconciliations, leads month-end and year-end close activities for assigned areas, and researches accounting discrepancies that require judgment. Unlike a Staff Accountant, this position independently owns assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts and supervises, trains, develops, and reviews the work of staff accountants. The role supports accurate and timely financial statements and reporting, compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies, and budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for assigned accounts. It also supports internal and external audits and collaborates with other departments to resolve accounting and reporting issues. This office-based role is primarily desk- and computer-based. The environment is fast-paced, with concurrent close deadlines that require accuracy under time pressure, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
