About The Position

RBC Bearings is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant for its Oxford, Connecticut location. The role is at a publicly traded manufacturing company listed on the NYSE and involves SEC reporting, financial accounting and analysis, treasury functions, mergers and acquisitions, and technical accounting. The position also supports monthly and year-end accounting activities, reporting, reviews, and audits, and includes mentoring and supervising less experienced accountants.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting.
Either a Master’s degree or CPA license.
3–5 years of experience in accounting or another role involving financial analysis; public accounting experience preferred.
Knowledge of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles and understanding of SEC reporting requirements.

Nice To Haves

Certified Public Accountant certification or a Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
Strong analytical and technical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

Prepare technical accounting position papers for business transactions.
Perform due diligence and purchase price accounting for mergers and acquisitions.
Lead adoption and implementation of new accounting standards.
Mentor and supervise less experienced accountants.
Prepare and process monthly journal entries.
Reconcile general ledger accounts.
Assist with monthly close processes.
Prepare financial and statistical reports as required.
Compile and provide support for quarterly and annual reviews and audits.
Assist with preparation and review of SEC reporting documents and/or provide support for SEC reporting.
Maintain attendance at work as an essential function of the job.
