About The Position

The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for performing a broad range of corporate accounting tasks across multiple entities. This role supports accurate and timely financial reporting, ensures compliance with internal controls, company procedures and regulatory requirements, and contributes to ongoing process improvements. The Senior Corporate Accountant works closely with the Assistant Controller to deliver high‑quality financial information to management and ownership.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a Senior Accountant–level role
  • Strong financial reporting and analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex reporting and analysis
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with accounting systems, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing software
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines
  • Self‑motivated, accountable, and committed to achieving team results
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in real estate is preferred
  • CPA designation or equivalent is preferred
  • Experience with Sage 300 Construction is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Preparing financial reports and analysis for corporate entities, including month‑end and quarter‑end reporting, year‑end working papers, and forecast updates
  • Preparing account analysis, journal entries and financial statements
  • Preparing and reviewing timely and accurate monthly billings to projects from corporate entities
  • Reviewing accounts payable for corporate entities
  • Assisting in preparation of monthly corporate credit card reconciliation
  • Supporting treasury and cash management activities, including preparation and release of wires, bank transactions, and monitoring of corporate cash balances
  • Providing support and backup for payroll processing, reconciliations, and related reporting as required
  • Providing guidance and review support to junior accounting staff as needed
  • Reviewing rent rolls, P&L trending reports and property management month end files prepared by junior accounting staff as required
  • Preparing complex accounting reports and dashboards with Excel and proposing changes according to new regulatory guidelines
  • Ad hoc financial planning and reporting as required by individual partners, Assistant Controller, VP, CFO, or Ownership
  • Preparing corporate T2s and ensuring the integrity of the reporting process for taxation authorities
  • Reviewing partnership T5013 filings for consistency with internal records
  • Preparing, reviewing, and filing government information returns, including GST
  • Supporting external audit, review, or tax inquiries as required
  • Documenting and updating all accounting procedures and internal controls, including procedure changes, process improvements and other projects as identified
  • Identifying and implementing process and efficiency improvements within corporate accounting and reporting
  • Supporting special projects and process initiatives as required

Benefits

  • Salary range - $85,000 - $105,000 based on experience + discretionary bonus
