About The Position

The Senior Corporate Accountant will report to the Manager of Corporate Accounting and play a key role in supporting the corporate accounting function. This position is responsible for full-cycle general ledger accounting, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, corporate expense accounting, and financial reporting. The role offers high visibility within the organization and includes regular interaction with senior leadership, including the Controller and CFO. We offer a flexible hybrid work environment, with team members working in the office three days per week and remotely two days per week.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of general ledger accounting or minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience
  • Solid foundation in GAAP, monthly close processes, and cash management
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies in accounting processes and implement process improvements
  • Working knowledge of generative AI tools and ability to apply them effectively to accounting workflows

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MRI accounting software or similar accounting platform preferred
  • Commercial real estate, corporate and/or investment accounting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review full-cycle general ledger journal entries and month-end account reconciliations
  • Manage the monthly close process for multiple corporate entities
  • Review general ledger activity, perform variance analysis, and prepare supporting schedules for month-end reporting
  • Assume ownership of corporate expense accounting, including monthly accruals and analysis
  • Support budgeting and forecasting efforts in partnership with the Finance team
  • Complete monthly direct and indirect billback processes and assist with related collection follow-up
  • Process payroll-related payments, reconciliations, and accounting entries
  • Lead employee expense reimbursement processing and related accounting activities
  • Prepare and distribute monthly T&E reporting for department leaders
  • Manage corporate cash flow activities and funding requests
  • Participate in day-to-day accounting operations and identify opportunities to improve accounting and reporting processes
  • Assist with the continuous improvement of processes, policies, internal controls, and documentation
  • Support ad hoc projects and special initiatives as needed
