About The Position

Direct oversight or delegation of responsibilities within the culinary operation, including responsibility for cooking and preparing food according to recipes and production guidelines while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • Three (3) years of experience as a cook required.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all applicable HACCP (Hazard analysis and critical control points) guidelines regarding the requisition, storage, handling and preparation of food.
  • Oversees scheduled meal preparation, presentation and timely execution to ensure quality, safety and service of the planned menu.
  • Follows, monitors and insures accountability of standardized recipes in preparation of all food as well as completes required production records.
  • Reviews menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared.
  • Communicates to departmental leadership any shortages or concerns.
  • Assists departmental leadership with staff scheduling, problem solving, interviewing and evaluations.
  • Assists with the development of menus for patients, physicians, the cafeteria and catering services.
