About The Position

PAR Systems is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join their Automation business segment. This role involves designing and developing cutting-edge software, automation, and control systems for industries such as Life Science, Aerospace, Nuclear, and Marine. The engineer will work with the latest technology in vision, motion, robotics, and lasers to bring machines to life and solve complex challenges. The position requires a strong customer focus, a "whatever it takes" mentality, and the ability to lead and mentor junior engineers. The Senior Controls Engineer will be an integral partner in bringing customer solutions to life, from design and development to leading design reviews with cross-functional teams and customers. This role offers great career visibility by working with engineering leaders and chief engineers across business units.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of controls engineering experience
  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to independently drive projects in their entirety
  • Significant experience in the application of PLC/PC programming, motion control, robotics, and vision for automation
  • Experience in AutoCAD Electrical or other electrical CAD programs

Responsibilities

  • Understanding customer requirements
  • Designing controls systems in their entirety
  • Writing all software (PLC, PC, HMI, robot, vision, etc)
  • Powering up machines and commissioning all devices
  • Checking out all software and machine processes
  • Leading Factory Acceptance Testing with customers
  • Supporting installation and Site Acceptance Testing
  • Mentoring and leading junior engineers in the execution of control process steps
  • Providing leadership and driving internal collaboration between multiple functions including Project Management, Operations, Quality, etc.
  • Leading design reviews with cross-functional teams and customers
  • Working with engineering leaders and chief engineers across business units
