About The Position

The acquisition support services may include, but are not limited to strategy, planning, data analysis, requirements and/or documentation development, preparing Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs), and compliance reviews for acquisition documents and forms. Provide support and contract specialist functional area technical experts with the development of writing requirements into sound/sufficient Statement of Work (SOW), PWS, and/or Orders. Other support functions may include acquisition planning, solicitation preparation, market research/analysis, source selection document preparation, administration of terms and conditions, preparing contract modifications and documents, cost/price analysis, development of analytics, creating reports, preparation of contract termination documents, and drafting contract close-out documents.

Requirements

  • At least ten (10) years of experience serving as a lead negotiator and contract specialist responsible for pre-award and post-award functions involving highly specialized procurements of significant importance to the agency, with a strong preference for experience in the DOW, DON, or Marine Corps.
  • At least five (5) years of experience serving as a lead negotiator and contract specialist on large-scale service requirements/acquisitions, with a strong preference for experience in the DOW, DON, or Marine Corps.
  • At least five (5) years of experience leading and managing teams of contract specialists or acquisition professionals.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
  • Experience in managing large, complex engagements or projects.
  • Experience in key federal acquisition systems, including SAM.gov, Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE), electronic Procurement System (ePS), and Acquisition Management System (AMS).
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite programs to include Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to interface with service providers, program offices, government contracting officers, and contracting officers representatives.

Nice To Haves

  • strong preference for experience in the Department of War (DOW), Department of Navy (DON), or Marine Corps.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical knowledge in their area of expertise, working in both an individual and team environment to support the completion of project specific tasks within the timeframe and budget constraints, assisting with the implementation of technical solutions, and interfacing with the client on a day-to-day basis.
  • Applying expertise to the practical issues they identify or those presented by the client, and assisting senior personnel in formulating solutions, preparing reports, studies, and documentation, and supporting presentations and client meetings.
  • Directs the work of subordinates and reviews work paper/reports for accuracy and completeness.
