About The Position

We are presently seeking multiple highly skilled and detailed-oriented Senior Contracts Management Specialist to manage and oversee contracts/subcontracts across their lifecycle. In this role, you’ll ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will play a crucial part in driving successful contract execution while contributing to the continuous improvement of contract processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent in training and experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in contract management, negotiation, or administration.
  • Strong knowledge of contractual terms, business law, and compliance regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex contractual documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including advanced Word and Excel skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to covey complete ideas clearly.
  • Ability to manage high-volume workloads with changing priorities.
  • The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the defence industry and associated regulations (e.g. ITAR/EAR/Controlled Goods) is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction project requirements and compliance standards, including risk mitigation strategies is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of resolving disputes and fostering collaboration with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage a variety of agreements (e.g. customer contracts, subcontracts, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Proprietary Information Agreements (PIAs)) throughout their lifecycle.
  • Point of contact to Public Services and Procurement Canada’s (PSPC) Contract Authority for interpretation, amendments, and customer commitments on assigned defense contracts.
  • Participate in the preparation of contract proposals, contract administration and customer/subcontractor contract activities and fulfilment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements and customer/subcontract specifications.
  • Translate prime contracts requirements into subcontracts, ensuring alignment with terms and conditions, pricing structure, acceptance criteria, performance requirements, and delivery schedules.
  • Track contract performance, manage modifications, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Lead the development, negotiation, and execution of contracts, including terms and conditions, statements of work (SOW), and pricing.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable government regulations (e.g. Transportation, Import/Export, ITAR, EAR, Controlled Goods, and Occupational Health & Safety).
  • Risk Mitigation and Compliance: Identify, evaluate and mitigate contractual risks, including the development of risk mitigation strategies, for management consideration.
  • Advise program teams on contractual obligations, deliverables, and performance metrics, including financial, technical, and schedule risks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve disputes or performance issues.
  • Customer and Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for customers and subcontractors on contractual matters.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure successful contract execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., program management, finance, legal, and supply chain) to align contract terms with program objectives.
  • Evaluate subcontractor proposals, capabilities, and performance to ensure alignment with program requirements.
  • Proposal Development: Support proposal development by reviewing and analyzing solicitation requirements.
  • Prepare and submit compliant proposals, including pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and best practices for contract/subcontract management.
  • Identify opportunities for improve efficiency and accuracy in contract management processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of subcontracting activities.
