About The Position

This role involves supporting the commercial aspects of the business, including contract development and agreement management, sales of products and services, and government contracting. The position requires in-depth knowledge of best practices and market differentiation, with a focus on supporting all phases of projects, including negotiations, commercial issues, customer and supplier relationships, claims, disputes, and insurance. The role also involves developing specialized expertise, acting as a best practice resource, contributing to strategy and policy development, and influencing others through clear communication of complex messages. This position has a significant impact on the functional area and its ways of working, requiring evaluative judgment and autonomy within broad guidelines. The Senior Contract Manager will use technical experience for data analysis and make decisions based on multiple internal and limited external sources.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • A minimum of 6 years of professional experience within a relevant Commercial or Legal function.
  • Contract reading and writing experience
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to handle many complex issues concurrently
  • A sense of urgency and customer-focused responsiveness

Nice To Haves

  • Working hours must be around the EST time zone to accommodate business and clients
  • 6+ years claims management experience
  • Construction claims negotiation experience
  • Developer or EPC Experience, preferably in the Power Industry

Responsibilities

  • Supporting all phases (ITO and OTR) of projects including negotiations, managing commercial issues, customer and supplier relationships, claims, disputes and insurance.
  • Developing specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field.
  • Serving as best practice/quality resource.
  • Contributing towards strategy and policy development, and ensuring delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Explaining difficult or sensitive information and working to build consensus.
  • Using judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems that impact the function.
  • Taking new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Using technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
  • Using multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
