About The Position

The Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) is Canada's only government to government contracting agency. Through its international contracting expertise, CCC simplifies and expedites acquisitions from Canadian suppliers across sectors including aerospace, defence and security, information and communications technology, cleantech and energy, and public infrastructure. The Senior Contract Manager, Contract Structuring is responsible to guide Canadian exporters in the navigation of Canadian and foreign government procurement systems in complex contract certification and award. The Senior Contract Manager serves to mitigate risk and resolve issues for and amongst the parties. Contracts include those defined as complex.

Requirements

  • Completion of a post-secondary education in commerce or business administration
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in contracting and financial management
  • Knowledge of contract management practices in a domestic and international context
  • Knowledge of client /stakeholder relationship management
  • Knowledge of relevant governing legislation, regulations, and guidelines

  • Bilingualism in both official languages is strongly recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a portfolio of existing and vetted Canadian exporters and completes intake of new exporters and ensures completion of vetting for due diligence and compliance for complex contracts
  • Supports contract structuring for a broad range of complex contracts across a diversity of good and services each with unique contractual arrangements that must meet prescribed regulations
  • Completes analysis of multiple inputs, examines tenders/solicitations, and recommends certification of bids, proposals, offers and signing of contracts
  • Ensures that price certification is completed in partnership with Public Services and Procurement Canada
  • Leads complex files gathers and tracks information, reviews clauses and legal matrix, participates in meetings, and completes check lists and drafts documents
  • Completes project due diligence and file certification in alignment with internal policies and procedures and documents actions and status
  • Interacts with internal and external stakeholders to endorse the proposal and endorse the supplier and finalize the contract to allow Canadians to sell their goods and services to the U.S. military
  • Facilitates resolution of policy, technical, and financial difficulties related to the realization of complex, high profile, or sensitive export business transactions, and escalates as required
