About The Position

Protiviti is seeking a Technology Audit & Advisory Senior Consultant to join its Financial Services team. This role involves working with highly regulated clients in the financial services industry, focusing on managing technology risks, enhancing enterprise value, and leveraging innovation like AI and automation. The position emphasizes technology enablement through analytics, AI, and automation to perform deeper, broader, and more insightful analyses of client technology risks. The company supports professional development and training to keep the team at the forefront of emerging risks and trends. Consultants in this area assess, identify risks, advise, and consult on various technology-related topics including cybersecurity, cloud assurance, project risk advisory, technology risk management, IT General Controls (ITGC), AI and Data Governance, data privacy, technology regulations, enterprise applications, technology resilience, IT Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, emerging technologies, 2nd line controls, governance, and technology enablement.

Requirements

  • Experience with or understanding of IT audit methodologies and developing necessary audit deliverables, including process flows, work programs, audit reports, and control summaries.
  • Familiarity with commonly used internal control frameworks, including COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS, ITIL, etc.
  • Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley Act provisions and methodologies for achieving compliance, in particular the technology implications and requirements.
  • Knowledge of financial services industry regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications with specific emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Secondary emphasis on Visio and Access.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or business-related field).
  • 2 + years working in internal audit, consulting, assurance services, risk and control programs, or related field, either in professional services or within the financial services industry.
  • Supervisory experience of teams including mentoring, oversight and review of work, coordination across teams, and understanding how to motivate.

  • Exposure to and/or interest in the latest trends and developments in data and technology, including high-growth topics of cybersecurity, cloud, data governance, privacy, analytics, enterprise applications (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics etc.), disaster recovery, systems development methodologies etc.
  • Exposure to and/or interest in analytics and technology enablement (automation, AI/ ML etc.).
  • Experience evaluating, summarizing, organizing, and interpreting data.
  • Experience establishing and cultivating business relationships and a professional network.
  • Ability to translate and communicate technology topics and audit issues to client personnel, including executives.
  • Proficiency in PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, Python, and/or RPA Solutions.
  • Professional certification such as CIA, CRMA, CISA, CISM, CISSP, or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the successful completion of project work plans as a mentor, trainer, and coach to Interns and Consultants.
  • Identify areas of risk and opportunities to increase efficiency.
  • Strengthen relationships and deepen abilities to communicate, gain trust, and network with client personnel and professional associates.
  • Accept responsibility for decision-making in areas including establishing project scope and work plans, project staffing, preparation of deliverables, and application of methodologies, at the direction of Managers.
  • Partner with highly regulated clients in the financial services industry and deepen understanding of financial services regulations.
  • Assess, identify risk, advise, and consult on different technology-related topics.
  • Leverage AI to enhance personal productivity as well as internal audit and SOX activities, including planning, fieldwork and reporting.
  • Perform documentation of findings and summarizing recommendations.
