About The Position

StrategyCorp is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Government Relations team in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have a good first-hand knowledge of the federal and provincial governments and national politics and shares our passion for delving into complex issues that require strategic thinking, resilient problem solving, and grasp the political art of the possible. StrategyCorp has a fast-paced environment and we expect a lot from our Senior Consultants – with responsibilities that include conducting deep research and analysis, assisting senior project team members in formulating evidence-based advice for clients, drafting high quality deliverables, and drafting new business proposal development. Requirements

  • 3-5 years of work experience in government, political office or equivalent
  • Experience with public policy development or politics
  • Familiarity with major public policy issues and the Canadian political landscape
  • Knowledge of the machinery of government, specifically the Ontario provincial government as well as Canadian politics, the public sector, and ideally the private sector
  • Knowledge of consulting methodologies and approaches to address client service needs
  • Proven ability to design, write, and present high-quality, visually compelling client reports, presentations and other deliverables that communicate complex information with clarity and precision in a variety of media
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the proven ability to take initiative, deliver projects on-time, on-budget, and manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and aptitude for problem-solving
  • Strong decision-making abilities within the scope of the position and areas of responsibilities
  • Professional client service skills, including experience interacting with clients, elected officials, and government or political staff
  • Excellent research skills to pursue topics through various online/offline sources, including through outreach to public officials and network contacts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Experience in consulting is an asset
  • Ability to do registrable lobbying activities federally and provincially is an asset
  • Interest/experience in business development is an asset
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset
  • Understanding of key players and government offices is an asset
