About The Position

This role focuses on helping healthcare organizations develop, strengthen, and maintain residency programs while ensuring compliance with GME requirements and supporting broader workforce development initiatives. The Senior Consultant will collaborate with clients and internal teams to provide technical expertise, data analysis, project management, and practical recommendations that drive successful outcomes. The ideal candidate brings experience in GME, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a collaborative environment. The Senior Consultant is responsible for helping organizations through healthcare-related research, technical assistance, grant writing, policy analysis, strategic planning, procurements, program development, quality improvement, financial and reimbursement strategies, operational support, evaluation, product development and a range of other tasks. As an experienced expert within the firm, the Senior Consultant is responsible for client services, project management, and supporting the firm’s efforts to develop business through participation in the competitive and/or non-competitive proposal development process.

Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business management, public health, or a related discipline is required.
Equivalent work experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, although not desired, may be determined as acceptable.
Minimum of 5 years of progressively increasing prior experience in work involving publicly funded healthcare including, but not limited to policy, administration, operations, compliance, research, consulting, or evaluation.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in graduate medical education.
Detailed knowledge of processes related to programmatic compliance audit preparation, documentation management, and remediation strategies.
Demonstrated experience working with academic medical centers, physicians, and other stakeholders in the GME and workforce development space.
Advanced data analytics, Excel, Word, and writing skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and in collaborative team environments.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to clients and internal teams.

This role requires frequent travel to client sites and HMA offices.
Serve as a subject matter expert on GME program development, applications, compliance monitoring and audit preparation and remediation.
Provide technical support and analysis related to establishing new residency programs, including developing curricula, filing required federal and state forms, supporting clients in identifying areas of compliance risk with requirements from the American College of Graduate Medical Education, and other projects.
Support projects ensuring Medicare add-on payments related to Indirect Medical Education (IME) and Graduate Medical Education (GME), and teaching health center (THC) requirements can be effectively claimed by clients.
Apply working knowledge of GME programs and their requirements to client engagements.
Develop, review, and validate models and tools used to assess GME performance and policy impacts.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate complex rules and data into actionable insights and client recommendations.
Support client communications by preparing clear, accurate, and professional presentations, reports, and technical documentation.
Contribute to project management activities, including meeting deadlines, managing workplans, and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Participate in business development efforts by supporting proposal development and identifying opportunities related to GME and workforce development work.
