About The Position

Landrum & Brown is seeking an Aviation Senior Consultant with a strong background in airspace modeling, simulation, and operational analytics to join a specialist Aviation Planning and Advisory team. This role is ideal for a technically minded aviation professional who is deeply passionate about how airports, airspace systems, and air travel function at a systems level. You will work alongside highly specialized aviation planners, analysts, and operational experts on projects that directly influence airport efficiency, airspace optimization, capacity planning, and the future of aviation operations. This is not a general consulting role. It is an opportunity to join a niche aviation-focused practice where genuine enthusiasm for aviation science, operational performance, and the mechanics of air travel is highly valued. This position could be based from ANY of our US locations, including San Francisco, Cincinnati, Washington DC, and New York.

Requirements

  • Approximately 5–10 years of experience in airspace modeling, aviation simulation, airport operations analysis, air traffic systems analysis, and aviation operational planning.
  • Experience working with airports, aviation consultancies, ANSPs, or aviation authorities is highly desirable.
  • Strong proficiency with aviation simulation and modeling software, particularly SIMMOD, TAAM, and AirTOp.
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong data analytics and operational analysis skill.
  • Experience handling large operational datasets and simulation outputs.
  • Familiarity with aviation operational concepts, airport systems, and airspace structures.
  • Understanding of simulation methodologies and computational modeling principles.
  • Suitable educational backgrounds may include: Aviation Management or Aviation Science, Physics, Computational Modeling, Applied Mathematics, Data Analytics, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Simulation or Modeling disciplines.
