About The Position

CLMI Group is seeking a Senior Construction Scheduler (Scheduler IV) to support the Los Angeles Community College District's (LACCD) BuildLACCD capital improvement program. The Senior Construction Scheduler (Scheduler IV) provides senior-level scheduling and project controls support to the BuildLACCD Program Management Office across the LACCD bond program. This role is bond-eligible and strictly limited to work associated with capital construction, modernization, and infrastructure projects as defined under the BuildLACCD Bond Program.

Requirements

  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in project or program scheduling on large construction programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field. Additional qualifying experience in excess of the minimum stated above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of cost engineering and construction scheduling.
  • Demonstrated experience with time impact analysis, construction claims, and change order evaluation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage daily workload in a fast-paced, multi-site program setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience on educational facilities programs and Division of State Architect (DSA) projects, including K–12, community college, or higher education capital programs.
  • Experience across all phases of the project life cycle, including pre-design, design, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Professional certifications such as PMI-SP, AACE PSP, or CCM are a plus.
  • Experience supporting public agencies, community college districts, or large institutional capital programs in California.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the preparation of project schedules based on defined project execution philosophies; ensure schedules reflect current scope, phasing, and contract requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain cost-loaded schedules to support comprehensive cash flow projections and program budget performance reporting.
  • Perform Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis and Earned Value analysis to monitor project performance and forecast completion.
  • Conduct construction and project site visits for progress reporting; review and evaluate contractor recovery schedules for feasibility and contract conformance.
  • Perform contractor schedule reviews for contract conformance and quality assurance; review weekly and monthly schedule progress updates and prepare narrative findings for management.
  • Perform time impact analysis (TIA) of project schedule delays; identify schedule-related problems arising during project execution and recommend corrective actions and solutions.
  • Evaluate contract change orders and amendments for schedule and budget impact; participate in change order negotiations and support claims resolution.
  • Perform cost analysis in support of design and construction phases of capital projects; analyze actual expenditures versus budget performance.
  • Understand, interpret, and apply contracts, policies, and procedures within Build LACCD program guidelines; communicate findings and recommendations orally and in writing to management.
  • Maintain flexibility in schedule and transportation to support multiple active project sites as assigned.
