About The Position

This is an opportunity for an experienced, dynamic Project Manager (PM) to provide leadership, direction, and oversight during all phases of construction within a large arena jobsite. You will assist with organizing and overseeing the construction process and ensuring projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner. You will oversee all phases of the construction process: construction and post-construction, with an emphasis on envelope build. You coordinate construction efforts, predict and resolve conflicts before they impact the project, and deliver timely and cost-effective solutions for our clients. This position leads and manages projects from a financial and constructability perspective. You ensure that the Owner’s highest expectations are met by delivering all projects on time, within budget, and in a safe manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in construction management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related construction degree, or related experience
  • 15 years’ Experience in Construction Management
  • Large scale project experience; arena experience highly desired
  • MIOSHA 30 HR Training
  • Minimum Training on utilizing Equipment (i.e., man lifts for example)
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Projects

Responsibilities

  • Develops scopes of Work for trade packages, with an emphasis on complex arena systems (structural, envelope, AV/broadcast, specialty equipment)
  • Identifies Phasing Plan/Schedule, construction sequencing, and milestones
  • Acts as the Gatekeeper of Bidders Request for Information (BRFI’s)
  • Prepares & monitors Submittal Log
  • Takes an active role in the day-to-day management of the entire project.
  • Coordinates construction activities, including workers, materials, and equipment.
  • Focus on envelope construction activities.
  • Ensures that all construction specifications, standards, and quality expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Leads Owner-Architect-CM (O/A/C) progress meetings
  • Monitors Budget and Schedule and provides updates throughout the project.
  • Provides Quality Assurance for construction means and methods and project safety.
  • Manages and executes the Change Order process
  • Utilizes OSHA construction and general industry regulations, ensuring that projects are installed in a safe manner
  • Assists in processing cost issues
  • Manages the delivery of a quality product
  • Promotes a disciplined approach to both project and internal process, to ensure efficient and cost-conscious behavior is exhibited by the overall team.
  • Attends owner and design meetings to assist in the pre-planning of conceptual projects
  • Oversees the development of:
  • Construction schedules
  • Work scopes
  • General Conditions budgets
  • Bid Strategies
  • Bidders' lists, project manuals and other project documentation
  • Reviews and approves construction budgets
  • Conducts Pre-bid meetings and post-bid interviews
  • Provides value engineering analysis
  • Assists in Closeout Documentation- As-built Drawings
  • Follows Up on Warranty Items
  • Meets established deadlines and/or goals
  • Advises key stakeholders of unavoidable delays
  • Takes initiative and does whatever it takes to achieve goals
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
