About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Construction Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of all electrical and communications scopes for a 10,000-seat arena. This is an in-field electrical construction position. This includes scheduling and managing electrical crews on site for installation of high-voltage power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, access control, and data systems. The Project Manager will also establish and manage Smartsheet-based project controls, ensuring consistent tracking of design, procurement, labor, safety, quality, and cost performance across all project phases. This role serves as the central hub between engineering, field operations, vendors, and the client to maintain project clarity, accountability, and schedule adherence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing electrical and low-voltage construction projects (non-IT) ($1M–$20M)
  • Proficient in Smartsheet (formulas, dashboards, Control Center, automations)
  • Knowledge of high-voltage systems, fire alarm integration, security/access systems, and low-voltage cabling
  • Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA 70/72, and OSHA standards
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Familiarity with refrigeration plant electrical systems for arenas or similar facilities

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of construction ensuring schedule adherence for electrical scopes, from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Oversee installation and integration of: High-voltage power distribution and switchgear, Lighting and controls (arena and exterior systems), Fire alarm systems and life safety circuits, Security and access control systems, Communications, data, and low-voltage infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, architects, and MEP engineers for accurate field implementation.
  • Develop detailed look-ahead schedules, phasing plans, and logistics sequencing for specialized areas (e.g., ice plant, refrigeration, rink lighting, HVAC interface).
  • Lead daily and weekly progress meetings with field teams and subcontractors.
  • Develop and implement Smartsheet control systems for: Master project schedule (with dependencies and critical path), RFI and submittal tracking logs, Procurement tracker (quotes, POs, delivery verification), Labor tracking and resource allocation, Change order and issue logs, Safety and quality control reports.
  • Automate approval workflows, document routing, and status notifications.
  • Build real-time dashboards for leadership to view progress, budget performance, and material status.
  • Train field foremen, coordinators, and engineers on consistent data entry and Smartsheet standards.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete analysis.
  • Track procurement milestones and delivery status to prevent schedule delays.
  • Produce weekly executive summaries with KPIs: cost, schedule, safety, manpower, and material status.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, and local building/fire codes.
  • Oversee QA/QC inspections for conduit routing, terminations, and device placements.
  • Verify fire alarm and security system commissioning documentation and certification testing.
  • Maintain daily safety checklists and ensure OSHA compliance.
  • Supervise and mentor Assistant PMs, Project Coordinators, and Field Engineers.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the field team and project executives.
  • Foster a culture of communication, organization, and accountability through consistent digital reporting.
  • Support leadership in standardizing Smartsheet processes company wide.
