About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Senior Construction Materials Technician to join their Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Corpus Christi, Texas. This role offers a career opportunity in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry. Intertek-PSI is a leading US-based provider of construction assurance, testing, and inspection services, offering a broad range of services including construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. The Senior Construction Materials Technician is responsible for performing various testing (e.g., soil, concrete), project-specific observation, and inspection duties, providing assessment data under general supervision.

Requirements

ACI: Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1
Soils, Concrete, Masonry, Reinforced Steel
Asphalt Level 1B Roadway Specialist
Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound.
Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
Ability to climb occasionally

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or equivalent
NICET II (geotechnical or construction, or construction material testing or soils)

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of testing, (example: soil, concrete, etc.) project-specific observation, inspection duties and provide assessment data under general supervision.
Utilize, read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
Use specific methods to observe site activities, perform tasks and give the interpretation of results.
Attend project meetings alone, without supervision, and communicate effectively with client and project teams.
