Senior Construction Manager

About The Position

The Sr Manager of Construction is responsible for the planning, design, and execution of construction projects, with a primary emphasis on data center design and construction and related industrial infrastructure. This role scopes for all phases of construction—from site selection support and conceptual design through commissioning and project closeout—ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with customer requirements and company standards. This position is not responsible for ongoing facility operations or maintenance and is focused exclusively on capital project delivery, construction governance, and external partner management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of construction management, including significant experience with data center or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, multi-site construction programs across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong knowledge of construction delivery methods, building systems, data center design considerations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage complex budgets, schedules, and contractor relationships at an executive level.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute construction initiatives, with a heavy concentration on data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee the design and construction lifecycle, including conceptual planning, design development, permitting, procurement, construction execution, and commissioning.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, customers, engineers, architects, and developers to define project scope, technical requirements, timelines, and delivery strategies.
  • Serve as an owner's representative for major construction projects, ensuring alignment with company standards and customer expectations.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls; identify risks, mitigation strategies, and cost-optimization opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
  • Lead contractor, subcontractor, and vendor selection processes, including RFPs, bid evaluations, contract negotiations, and performance management.
  • Assist with maintaining a detailed project schedule; monitor progress against milestones and proactively address schedule risks or delays.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, building codes, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Oversee construction quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure projects meet design specifications and operational readiness requirements.
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, schedules, and progress reporting in accordance with company policies.
  • Identify and implement best practices, standards, and scalable construction methodologies for data center and infrastructure development across multiple geographies.
  • Support long-term infrastructure planning by providing input on site feasibility, constructability, and expansion strategies for future projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support organizational objectives.
