This role manages the performance of Arcadis craft labor, subcontractors, overall site safety, and suppliers. Relays any issues related to these to clients, including any changes or deviations from plan, on a regular basis. The senior CM will be responsible for understanding the project objectives, and managing the completion of the work to satisfaction of the client. The Construction Manager regularly reports project progress and issues to the Arcadis Project Manager and maintains quality assurance requirements while monitoring code compliance issues. This individual manages and communicates deviations from general compliance with Contract Documents, clearly informing the Arcadis Project Manager and client to facilitate resolution. The Construction Manager regularly leads and manages daily and weekly construction meetings, safety meetings and updates, and project site coordination meetings. The role is responsible for monitoring and documenting resource utilization, including labor, materials, and equipment, related to field changes and time-and-material work, while assisting with the negotiation of basic field construction changes. The Construction Manager actively tracks project costs, change management activities, claims, and other construction-related matters to support successful project delivery and reports directly to the Arcadis Project Manager. Using strong oral and written communication skills, the Construction Manager effectively leads and facilitates progress, project, safety, scheduling, and other contract administration meetings with clients, contractors, local agencies, and community stakeholders. The individual recommends improvements that reduce project costs and/or shorten project schedules and reviews and processes subcontractor submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders. Additional responsibilities include acting as a liaison with design staff to obtain field information and facilitate responses to design-related questions received through contractor RFIs, along with performing other duties as required to support successful project execution.

Requirements

  • Over 10 years experience as Construction Manager for large sediment and environmental remediation projects.
  • OSHA 40 Hour Hazwoper and 10 Hour Site Supervisor.
  • Willingness to relocate or to travel full-time.
  • Commitment to Health and Safety
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience managing construction budgets and schedules and with estimating, change order negotiation, and bidding.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 Professional Project Management and/or Microsoft Project and the MS Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with various construction document management software.

Nice To Haves

  • Construction-related credentials, such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
