About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Construction Manager specializing in sediments to manage the performance of craft labor, subcontractors, overall site safety, and suppliers. This role involves regular communication with clients regarding project progress, changes, and deviations from the plan. The Senior Construction Manager will be responsible for understanding project objectives and ensuring work is completed to the client's satisfaction, while maintaining quality assurance and monitoring code compliance. They will lead daily and weekly construction, safety, and coordination meetings, and manage resource utilization (labor, materials, equipment) for field changes and time-and-material work. This role actively tracks project costs, change management, claims, and other construction-related matters to support successful project delivery, reporting directly to the Arcadis Project Manager. The position requires strong oral and written communication skills to facilitate meetings with clients, contractors, local agencies, and community stakeholders, and involves recommending cost-saving or schedule-shortening improvements. Responsibilities also include reviewing and processing subcontractor submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders, and acting as a liaison with design staff to obtain field information and facilitate responses to design-related questions.

Requirements

  • Over 10 years experience as Construction Manager for large sediment and environmental remediation projects.
  • OSHA 40 Hour Hazwoper and 10 Hour Site Supervisor.
  • Willingness to relocate or to travel full-time.
  • Commitment to Health and Safety
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience managing construction budgets and schedules and with estimating, change order negotiation, and bidding.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 Professional Project Management and/or Microsoft Project and the MS Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with various construction document management software.

Nice To Haves

  • Construction-related credentials, such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM).

Responsibilities

  • Manages the performance of Arcadis craft labor, subcontractors, overall site safety, and suppliers.
  • Relays any issues related to these to clients, including any changes or deviations from plan, on a regular basis.
  • Understands project objectives and manages the completion of the work to satisfaction of the client.
  • Regularly reports project progress and issues to the Arcadis Project Manager.
  • Maintains quality assurance requirements while monitoring code compliance issues.
  • Manages and communicates deviations from general compliance with Contract Documents, clearly informing the Arcadis Project Manager and client to facilitate resolution.
  • Regularly leads and manages daily and weekly construction meetings, safety meetings and updates, and project site coordination meetings.
  • Monitors and documents resource utilization, including labor, materials, and equipment, related to field changes and time-and-material work.
  • Assists with the negotiation of basic field construction changes.
  • Actively tracks project costs, change management activities, claims, and other construction-related matters to support successful project delivery.
  • Effectively leads and facilitates progress, project, safety, scheduling, and other contract administration meetings with clients, contractors, local agencies, and community stakeholders.
  • Recommends improvements that reduce project costs and/or shorten project schedules.
  • Reviews and processes subcontractor submittents, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Acts as a liaison with design staff to obtain field information and facilitate responses to design-related questions received through contractor RFIs.
  • Performs other duties as required to support successful project execution.
