About The Position

Garg Consulting Services, Inc. (Garg) is a multidisciplinary engineering and construction management firm that provides inspection, engineering, and oversight services for transportation and infrastructure projects across the Northeast. We are currently seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to support major construction projects in Rocky Hill, CT, and surrounding areas. As a Senior Construction Inspector, you will lead daily field inspection activities, verify that work meets contract plans and specifications, and maintain accurate project documentation. You'll coordinate with the Resident Engineer, contractors, testing teams, and stakeholders to support safe work zones, quality construction, and on-time delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and at least four (4) years of field inspection experience; or CMIT Level 4, NICET Level 3, or a trade license, plus at least six (6) years of general construction experience and four (4) years of field inspection experience
  • NETTCP Concrete Technician certification
  • NETTCP Paving Inspector certification
  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician – Grade 1 certification
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction practices, and safety regulations
  • Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to regional project sites

Nice To Haves

  • EIT/PE preferred.
  • Rail, bridge, or complex transportation infrastructure experience.
  • Working knowledge of work-zone traffic control and staged construction on high-volume roadways.
  • Proficiency with digital inspection reporting, quantity tracking, and photo documentation.
  • Experience with CTDOT projects or CTDOT Standard Specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee daily field inspections of transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with approved plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Serve as the senior field representative and liaison between contractors, engineers, and client agencies.
  • Document daily construction activities, quantities, labor, equipment, and progress using digital reporting tools.
  • Track and verify pay quantities and assist with progress payment reviews.
  • Review material certifications, test results, and submittments prior to installation.
  • Inspect traffic control and erosion control measures for compliance with approved plans and regulations.
  • Identify non-conforming work and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Assist with change orders, field modifications, and as-built documentation.
  • Lead and mentor junior inspection staff as required.
  • Attend construction meetings and provide technical field input.
  • Support project closeout activities, including final inspections and punch lists.
