About The Position

Parsons is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to join our Senior Project Team on large-scale Infrastructure projects such as road-widening, bridge remediation, and the development of underground infrastructure. The successful candidate will conduct daily inspections to ensure contract adherence and conformance with contract specifications, with a focus on bridge and road inspection on existing projects. This role is part of our Critical Infrastructure team, which has been designing and delivering critical infrastructure for over 80 years to connect and protect communities worldwide.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, and/or combination of related experience
  • PEO registered, or OACETT registered
  • 5+ years of experience in construction inspection with MTO or municipal transportation projects
  • Knowledge of the requirements of MTO’s Construction Administration and Inspection Specifications (CAIS)
  • Knowledge of applicable design standards, OPS specifications, standard drawings, and quality control / quality assurance material testing methods.
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to utilize computer software such as MS Word and Excel
  • Must provide own transportation to and from job site.
  • Valid Class “G” driver’s license
  • Ability to lift 25 kg

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspections to determine contract adherence and conformance with contract specifications.
  • Responsible for bridge and road inspection on existing projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental regulations.
  • Maintaining detailed diaries and photographs to document daily construction activities.
  • Conduct inspection as per applicable inspection requirements, such as MTO’s Construction Administration and Inspection Specifications.
  • Coordination of onsite sub-consultants and quality assurance material testing.
  • Reporting of installed quantities to verify applications for monthly payment and change order work.
  • Maintains office files related to the project, quantity calculations, and other documentation as required by the construction contract.
