Senior Construction Inspector
About The Position
TYLin is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to support transportation construction management projects, with a focus on bridge, road, and highway construction inspection. The role is based in a field office and involves monitoring field investigations, verifying and documenting contractor findings, and regularly reporting information to the Resident Engineer. The position is based out of TYLin’s Phoenix, Arizona office, with work expected in various areas throughout Arizona. This posting gathers expressions of interest for anticipated opportunities expected over the next 3–6 months; an immediate vacancy may not be available.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience inspecting bridge and roadway construction projects.

- Previous internship experience inspecting bridge and roadway construction projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily inspection reports and perform materials sampling and acceptance testing.
- Confirm traffic control complies with state and local standards.
- Ensure daily findings are documented accurately.
- Document contractor manpower and equipment daily.
- Follow and enforce construction safety rules and regulations.
- Read and understand contract documents, including plans and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
- Ensure monthly progress payments are accurately documented.
- Assist with documenting pay quantities and developing the final estimate.
- Draft contract change orders.
- Accurately track change order payments.
- Log and track material inspection, certification, and acceptance for the project.
- Perform other duties as needed.
