About The Position

Bowhead is seeking a Senior Computer Systems/Network Administrator to join their team for the Hawaii Support Services proposal effort. This role supports the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Keyport Division Detachment Pacific (NUWCDIVKPT) in Oahu, Hawaii. The Senior Computer Systems/Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining multiple computing environments by identifying network requirements, installing upgrades, monitoring network performance, and managing network configuration consistency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, computer science or related field.
  • Seven (7+) or more years in a senior IT Infrastructure role designing, implementing and supporting an enterprise infrastructure environment.
  • Required In-depth knowledge and experience in Active Directory, Group policy, DNS, DHCP, WAN/LAN, routing, switching, cybersecurity and general network topology administration.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE Certification/IAT Level II required and latest computer operating system commercial certifications.
  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Top Secret level.
  • US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.

Nice To Haves

  • Desired experience in classified environments.
  • Desired Professional certification (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, CCDP) or demonstrable equivalency via experience.

Responsibilities

  • Must have a strong background in Network switching and TCP/IP protocol analysis.
  • Implement local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, & other data networks.
  • Experience with network routers and switch configuration experience. Environment includes Artysen, Cisco, Mellanox and Asante switches.
  • Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and system performance.
  • Perform network modeling and analysis.
  • Define diagrams and designs for business technology initiatives.
  • Enforce policies for standardizing systems.
  • Answering questions about installation, operation, configuration, customization and usage of assigned products installed on Windows 11 Computers.
  • Applying advanced diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes and recommend solutions to correct common failures.
  • Specific support consists of troubleshooting hardware, software, and network related issues encountered by users.
  • Proficient with ACAS.
  • Provide hardware support for PCs, printers, scanners, Common Access Cards (CAC), etc.
  • Software support includes but not limited to Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and various specialty engineering and scientific development software/tools.
  • Installation of new software releases, system upgrades, evaluation and installation of patches and to resolve software related issues and Information Assurance Vulnerabilities (IAVs).
  • Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of the organizational mailbox to ensure that all users receive timely support in response to their requests for assistance.
  • Maintain and develop IT related procedures required to support the organization.
