About The Position

ADGA Group is seeking a Senior Computer/Network Technician to provide technical leadership and expertise on complex, high-impact client engagements. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of specialized solutions, support and mentor team members, and have an opportunity to contribute across a variety of projects and initiatives. Within this particular role, the successful candidate will assist the FST technical support personnel in the maintenance of the RCN DMOC and network and system management services. These include DMOC and TDL network and computer system administration and management, repair by replacement of unserviceable equipment, cabling of new systems and hardware, interoperability testing, system performance evaluations, maintenance and improvement of systems on the RCN DMOC and LAN and systems that support the RCN FST connection to the two eyes enclave. This posting is for an anticipated position expected to commence in mid-September. To accommodate the required security clearance process, we are accepting applications in advance.

Requirements

  • Must have a College Technical Diploma related to Information Technology
  • 10 years of experience in an applicable field of IT as a technician
  • 4 years’ experience in the last 5 years performing the role of a Computer/Network technician maintaining and testing of computer systems and related products, including the following responsibilities:
  • Providing technical planning and support for a 50+ device networks
  • Routing and network protocols such as OSPF, spanning tree, VLANs and VPNs
  • Experience maintaining WAN and LAN systems and improvement projects
  • Experience in the configuration control and documentation of WAN and LAN systems
  • Professional working experience in a Unix/Linux and Microsoft operating system environments
  • Applying security updates for known system vulnerabilities
  • Monitoring and managing endpoint security protection systems
  • Supporting virtualization or containerization environments
  • Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret (Level II) Canadian Federal Government Security clearance VCR and Controlled Goods clearances.
  • Must be able to go onsite in Esquimalt, BC 5 days a week

Responsibilities

  • Perform DMOC operator services.
  • Support FST exercises, trials, tests and evaluations as needed. These include providing on-site technical support, if required, during specific events.
  • Provide support to NTDCA system administrators, network technicians, and instructional developers in the creation of training applications in the TDLs.
  • Provide support to ensure that RCN security processes are implemented within the DMOC and networked TDLs.
  • Support technology refresh of DMOC equipment and software by specifying hardware and software requirements. Upon delivery of hardware and software, perform installation, configuration, setup and testing of new equipment.
  • Conduct spares management as needed. These include: Periodic inventorying of spares; Recommendation of procurement of replacement spares; and Researching availability and technical specifications of recommended replacement spares.
