Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science or technical field with 4+ years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality OR Advanced degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 2+ years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality OR PhD with 0 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing process, and/or electronics or chemical laboratory or clean room facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with PLM systems, engineering processes (e.g. DFMEA, PPAP, TMV).
  • Professional certifications such as CQE, lead auditor, Six Sigma green/black belt, or PMP.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills (e.g. with suppliers for quality agreements, etc.)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Select, characterize, qualify, and release electronic components according to company standards.
  • Create and release component specifications, datasheets, and drawings for new product introductions (NPI).
  • Drive Quality rigor for New Product Development decisions, Capability & Reliability with Suppliers.
  • Lead failure analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective actions for component-related issues while working with suppliers, manufacturing and quality teams to resolve technical and quality concerns.
  • Work closely with program managers and cross functional teams including design, process, test, and reliability engineers to ensure project milestones are completed efficiently and on time.
  • Monitor parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and communicate and resolve supplier-related problems as they occur.
  • Collaborate in qualification audits for new suppliers to ensure good manufacturing practices (GMP) and quality standards are met.
  • Evaluate suppliers' internal functions to assess their overall performance and provide feedback in assessment of their operation.
  • Provide technical guidance and quality compliance for Supplier Quality engagement throughout the NPD lifecycle on newly qualified parts from NPD and implement strategies for driving product quality and continuous improvement, ensuring purchased products and components are manufactured and qualified in accordance to applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements.
  • Evaluate alternate and second-source components to mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Define Receiving Inspection requirements as required and associated test method validation for all internal Medtronic Test Methods.
